is original Indian passport required for renunciation of Indian citizenship

i wasn't able to apply for renunciation of Indian citizenship along with passport surrender as the former has to be done in London Goswell VFS only. i had to submit my original indian passport with the passport surrender application. now my question is, do i need original passport to submit renunciation application?

turns out its not required. challan (bill) from passport surrender would be sufficient.

Were you able to submit the renunciation application with only the surrender application receipt?

I have my surrender appointment before the renunciation appointment and hence, won't have the original Indian passport for renunciation.

Also, which VFS centre did you attend?
