India Passport to OCI Journey

Hello Experts,

My spouse has now received her UK passport and would now like to initiate the next processes. My questions are as follows:

1. Is the following a correct understanding of the workflow in terms of chronology?

Surrender of India Passport Receive Surrender Certificate . With surrender certificate, apply for Renunciation With renunciation certificate and surrender certificate, apply for OCI card.

2. Is everything supposed to be done at VFS or is there anything done at HCIL?

3. Apart from the obvious documents [Passport, Surrender certificate (at relevant stage), Renunciation certificate (at relevant stage)], what other documents are needed?

4. What are the fees (if any) involved?

5. Are they are any steps that can be taken in parallel?

6. Any other pointers will be helpful as well.
