OCI for UK born Child

Hello everyone,
I’m applying for OCI for my two minor children and would appreciate clarification from anyone who has applied recently in the UK.

Our situation:
• Children born in the UK.
• Children now hold UK passports.
• Indian passports have been renounced / surrendered.
• Both parents currently hold Indian passports.

We have:
• Full UK birth certificates, and
• Birth certificates issued by the Indian High Commission (Embassy)

The VFS OCI checklist mentions that a “full version birth certificate (apostilled if issued outside India)” is required.

My question is:
If we submit the Indian Embassy–issued birth certificate, is it still mandatory to apostille the UK birth certificate, or does the Embassy birth certificate suffice without apostille?
I’m looking for recent, first-hand experiences (especially from 2024–2025 applications) to avoid delays or resubmissions.
