tourist visa to long term entry visa

Hi Guys,

Is it possible for me to convert my current tourist visa to long term entry visa (5 year) while I am in India. I was born in India and had taken up British Citizenship. I have also brought my passport surrender certificate with me.

Can I re apply for an entry visa while living here.
