A pleasant day to everybody..i am a newbie in here and wanted to seek some legal answers/advices regarding my wife's "key employee status" approval in Cayman Island.
Here's the story, my wife is working as a bookeeper in Cayman and recently her employer applied for a "key employee status" visa. And luckily the Immigration Board approved her application last June sending here a letter saying that they approved her application and extending her work permit till 2013 and must pay all the fees (more or less CI.6,000.00). Of which her employer paid the amount in full.
Yesterday, 11 Nov. 2011, she went to immigration to request for an exit re-entry visa to Jamaica for a Medical/Doctor appointment. Surprisingly, the Immigration Officer informed them that there's a problem with her work permit as the Board of Immigration MADE A MISTAKE ON APPROVING HER "KEY EMPLOYEE STATUS, WORK PERMIT". My question is, can the immigration revoke her "key employee status work permit"? Note that all legal documents from Immigration saying that her application was approved until 2013 was forwarded to her and fees were fully paid. What legal action can her employer do?
Thank you so much.
