OCI Checklist

Post by nehalbhagat » Wed Sep 11, 2013 7:50 am

Hello friends,

I am applying for mine and my son's OCI , so here is final checklist. Please advise if I am missing anything.

1. Form A+B signed + 1 photo each+ 300 GBP application fee (175 each)
2. Right hand thumb impression on my son's application form as signature.
2. Passport surrender certificate to support both applications.
3. My British passport copy ( self signed by me)
4. My son's British passport copy ( self signed by me)
5. My son's full UK birth certificate ( self signed by me)
6. My naturalization certificate ( self signed by me)
7. Marriage certificate (self signed by me) - incase needed

Carrying all originals for verification as well. My marriage certificate from India was laminated but I managed to remove the front lamination of document.

Please advise if I am missing anything

Thanks

£175x2 doesnt add up to £300. I suggest you carry exact change. Also note that:
Full signature in the box should be provided in case of major. Thumb impression (left hand thumb for male & right hand thumb for female) or signature should be provided in case of minor.

Push, Thanks for your reply

You right, wrong calculation , I will make sure I will take right change.
I will also take a left hand thumb impression of my son.

Is everything else in checklist looks OK ?

Hi!nehalbhagat

1)How old your son is? if he can able to sign take his sign if under 10 years old than its OK to take thumb impression I went for my kids age 12 & 14 and the Counter Lady ask me to bring their sign in the form as per her opinion she said there is lots people brings their form with kids signature and we allows that - without any issues.
2)I took 1 photo graphs for each but she asked me another two photographs because my all 4 application(2 ad+2ki) refused with different query and she asked me to get new form with another 2 photographs
3)I reached at Birmingham CGI last Friday reached there around 7 AM but my turn came at 4.40PM and my whole day was gone waste because application not been accepted with different querys
4)your points No-3 to 7 photocopy +original required for the verification
5)there is only one window for the check application and one was accepting payments another window also headed as OCI but girl was only coming every half an hour and don't know where she was disappearing and coming back it was all horrible system

after leaving in the UK last 8 years very worst experience at CGI B'gham it was looks like share bazaar.(I was there last Friday on 06/09/13)

Sorry you haven't asked above all but never ever faced like this worst experience. I don't like to see again this situation so now I'll go with postal option
