How to Sponsor my Mother in Law from India to UK

I am at a loss of the procedure needed to sponsor my mother in law from India.

What are the requirements needed to sponsor and the link where I can obtain to start the ball
rolling process?

What documents can I submit along with the application form?

Can I start the application now for her to come next April 2016?

Please advise.

Hi,

Go to VFS website for UK in India, select family visitor visa.

Your documents :
If you are sponsoring your mother in law then
1- Copy of your Indian passport showing valid UK visa or British passport
2- Sponsorship letter
3 - your last 3 months payslips or bank statement.
4- Council tax/Utility bill original for proof of residence

You can complete application form on-line on her behalf and book an appointment too. If you are planning her visit in April 2016 then apply visa in Feb end or March 2016.

There is no longer a family visitor visa, only a 'Standard Visitor visa'

If you are submitting documents which aren't originals, the copies should be legally certified.
