Hi Guys,

Here is update- finally recive back passport and OCI Card today.

Application Date :26-08-2016
VFS Center: London-Paddington
Date of acknowledgement : 29-08-2016
Original docs Received : within a day or two
Documents Printing Status : 11-11-2016
Dispatched From MOIA (OCI ) NEW DELHI : 11-11-2016
Document received At London: 11-11-2016
PASSPORT SUBMITTED IN PERSON: 11-11-2016
EMAIL and SMS received: 22-11-2016 (10.56pm)
PASSPORT AND OCI DOCUMENT RECEIVED - 23-11-2016 (12.49pm)

They didnt stamp visa on passport only issued OCI book. I think they stop doing that. When I got my OCI in 2006 that time stamp visa on my passport - its say Life Long Visa. Above is for my Son.

Let me know if anyone also got similar way?

Good luck to all who still waiting to hear from HCI....

I have given up waiting for the doc printing status to update.. even by some miracle if the document status gets updated and If I submitted my passport to vfs.. I guess given 10 working days is close to 12th december. I am intending to travel that week and waiting for the mail and checking postoffice or worst case with hci doesnt seem worth it. I might apply for a evisa and check oci on my return.

Hi OCI_Waiting,

Thanks for analysis, hope your OCI process soon, if you travelling on 12th December, just keep in mind HCI take about 7 working days to 10 working days return your passport with OCI card, VFS not help once your passport with HCI, no one answer phone or if you lucky get reply from HCI when you email.... so near the time better to get visitor visa and get OCI booklet when you back. My wife OCI apply on 26th on spouse base application which still under process, as I'm travelling india on 3rd of December, I got her Visitor visa...

Hello, I have read somewhere on facebook that someone was given a passport by hand as they provided the proof of tickets booked at VFS-Paddignton... So worth giving a try, once the status changes

Hello,

I am Navatha. I have a doubt regarding the application procedure for OCI for my child. My child is born in India in the month of march 2016. We received his british passport recently in NOvember 2016. My husband is a British citizen and I am presently on Spouce visa. Presently we( Mother&Child) are staying in India.

I have tried to apply for OCI card for my child but it is asking for photo and signature to register. Can the parent register on behalf of my child?

If Yes? Please let me know the procedure.

If no? Then please let me know, how can i proceed?

Thanks in advance...

Hi
Hope I am posting in the right thread as I couldn't find anything else matching nature of my query

My daughter(5 yrs old, British citizen) holds a Pio card ( valid till 2028), passport expires in 2017.

I was planning to apply oci for her , as per the oci website currently pio to oci is being done free of charges till 30/12/2016.

I am puzzled with the photo specification n her signature. How to upload the correct photo as per the guideline ?

Can I get her pic taken from a both , use my phone to take a pic of the pic n trim it? Unless someone can suggest another way
Also required what are the required documents

Regards

My date is the same as well : 7th October.

I did get a reply back on my email query asking me for more details on Thursday morning but since I gave them those they have gone completely silent on me.

I am supposed to fly on 14th December. Should I just be applying for a visa ?

Hi guys

I applied for OCI on 22nd Sept (66 days ago). I'm a UK passport holder and applying for myself based on my wife's Indian nationality (OCI based on Spouse). We're due to travel to India on 29th Dec but getting worried it won't be ready in time. I've emailed HCI London for an update and got the following (rather vague) reply:

"Your OCI file is under submission to the OCI granting authority."

Any ideas whether it would likely be ready in time?

Alternative is just to get tourist visa as a temporary measure. I saw other posts on here saying OCI based on spouse can take 4-6 months :o

Thanks for any input in advance!

Paul

Hi Pentaya,
Below is my timeline:
VFS Centre: London Paddington
Application Date: 11/08/2016
Date of Acknowledgement: 12/08/2016
Original docs Received: within 1-2 weeks
Documents Printing Status: PROCESSED on 11 Nov 2016
Dispatched from MOIA (OCI) NEW DELHI: 11 Nov 2016
Document received At LONDON: 11 Nov 2016
Passport Submitted in Person (VFS PADDINGTON): 15 Nov 2016
SMS/Email received: 25 Nov 2016
Passport and OCI booklet Received: 25 Nov 2016

So it took exactly three months for the status to change after submission and another couple of weeks to receive the OCI booklet.
I am travelling this Saturday so it was a bit panicky for me. So if anyone who is travelling within the first two weeks of December and the status is still showing as 'Under process' I would advice that they apply for the etourist visa.
Hope this info would be useful.

Many Thanks.

Hi Guys,

This is my currently timeline

Application Date :11-11-2016
VFS Center: London-Goswell
Date of acknowledgement : 15-11-2016
Original docs Received : TBC
Documents Printing Status : TBC
Dispatched From MOIA (OCI ) NEW DELHI : TBC
Document received At London: TBC
PASSPORT SUBMITTED IN PERSON: TBC
EMAIL and SMS received: TBC
PASSPORT AND OCI DOCUMENT RECEIVED -TBC

As you can see its been nearly two weeks since I submitted my originals and but I still haven't received this back. I have mailed the HCI and have also repeatedly called them (02086295950). But I am always on hold and my calls drops at around 13 minutes. This has happened to me thrice.

Hence, any suggestion on what I can possibly do. Does calling VFS Help? And has anyone else had this issue with the phone call to HCI?

I am puzzled with the photo specification n her signature. How to upload the correct photo as per the guideline ? -- I took a passport photo asking for Indian visa type. Then scanned it , using mspaint you can use resize option to either set them by dimension or by pixel (uncheck maintain aspect ratio) if you are doing by pixel and saveas the format requested.
I guess the ratio is given in the website.

I'm not sure anyone ever answers that phone number at HCI. I've tried 5 times over the past week and always had to same result. No one ever answers and eventually it gets cut
