Various Immigration Options

Post by sojan » Sun Jul 31, 2011 12:32 pm

Hi friends,
This is for cousin, who was looking for various country options to work/migrate.
I advised him of few options in preference
1. Australia
2. New Zealand (Seems very time consuming)
3. Canada (No options for Software/embedded engineers :( )
4. US (Until company sponsors, its hard to get self visa)
5. many other countries where quality of life is good ( Scandinavian countries, France, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Swiss, Holland), but not sure about migration options

I'm out of options for UK now coz there is no more Tier1.

Can you please guide me in exploring some options.
His credentials are, he is a Data analytics engineer (embedded software), Bachelors engineering.

I tried workpermit site, but I know life is more complex than their simple calculators.

a) Can you please guide me in migration to above countries and best options
b) and also options at and difficulties at
- Denmark
- Norway/Sweden/Finland
- France

Any advice would be much appreciated.

1. Australia, NZ are good options, if he can get the role he desires there.

2. Does your cousin speak any foreign/European languages. I have friends who work in France, Spain and Germany. They all speak or can manage the language there. Companies will not give you a work permit if you do not speak the language and you will only be able to work on short-term assignments (TCS, Infosys, Satyam do these) as and when a need arises (if they are unable to find someone from the EU) as getting work clearance is getting to be a up-hill task. Long term prospects have to be teamed with language knowledge which will crop up at different stages.
