Taking Citizenship exam!

Post by British » Sat Sep 16, 2006 9:11 pm

Hi,

I am a British citizen and my wife will be eligible for her ILR next March (after completing 2 years of her Spouse visa).

I was wondering if she could take the UK citizenship test now! :-)

She could gain invaluable knowledge about Britain, from preparing for the test and taking it, and once she passes the test, she will be one crucial step completed for her future UK citizenship naturalistion (next year) process.

Also the test pass certificate itself will be one aditional document (addressed to her, in our address) so she can use it as part of documentation (under item 6 I think) for SET (M) next March :-)

What do you guys think?? :-)

Thanks.

As far as I am aware there is no requirement to have ILR in order to take the test. Nor is there an expiry date on the pass certificate.

Check the Life in the UK Test website to be sure.

The legislation contains no provision for a successful test result to expire.
