The ID card databse is on it's way. It will be interesting to see how the gov't intends to handle 570,000+ people when they fail to register on their database. :wink:

Nice idea, pity about all the idiots who are signing the petition with pseudonyms and nicknames.
In a few years time we'll look back on immigration control like we look back on American prohibition in the thirties - futile and counter-productive.

There's a forged ID business just waiting to be launched.

The ID card program already has more holes in it than all the cheese in Switzerland. Throw in half a million forged IDs and it'll be even more fun! :(

True, Olmax.

The stupid gov't claims they cannot be cloned or tampered with. The criminals will always be one step ahead of the idiots at whitehall.
I'm also concerned about their use by police. Guess who will be stopped and asked for ID cards?
Remember the riots in France? I can see them happening here in a few years time.
