Hi,

My (Moroccan) husband has a UK spouse visa. We are living in the UK but previously lived in Germany, where he obtained a permanent Schengen residence/work permit after our marriage. In the next couple of months he will need to go to Germany to defend his PhD thesis. Does he need to apply for a visa to make this trip to Germany given he has this Schengen permit, or is this no longer valid now that we have been living in the UK for ca. 1 year?

any advice gratefully received!
