WP Holder EC at Nairobi, Info requested

Post by martinknjoro » Tue Mar 06, 2007 10:36 am

Hi,
I have a UK work permit, and I intend to apply for Entry Clearance to the British High Commission at Nairobi. I had a question about the proof of accommodation.

Proof of accommodation available in the UK is required as one of the documents. Now, my employment contract mentions that the employer will provide accommodation for the first four weeks. Is this enough to satisfy the ECO about accommodation arrangements?

Please let me know. Thank you.

Jambo.

You should check this with the British High Commission in Nairobi but my advice would be to give as much information as possible about the accomodation e.g. get a separate letter from your employer regarding this and see if your employer can provide a utility bill for the property as proof of address. If it is a hotel, payment of invoice should be provided.

Also, depending on the length of your work permit, the BHC may expect to see what arrangements you have made regarding accomodation after the first 4 weeks.

Good luck.
