Naturalisation sent by 31st Mar?

Post by sakura » Tue Mar 20, 2007 6:46 am

My friend will be submitting a naturalisation application, hopefully before 1st April. Does anyone know whether the naturalisation centre in Liverpool collects/accepts mail on Saturday, specifically 31st March? Are they open on weekends?

I ask because my friend has the Life in UK test boked on Friday 30th March, so if the application is posted with next day delivery (say 9am or 1pm), will it be accepted under the old (cheaper!) fees? It is the date of receipt, not post, that counts for naturalisation.

Also...I have noticed that the application form for naturalisation (as an adult) is different now...it reads AN (AFD) and not AN (TD)- is this for 1st April specifically, and if so, what application do those applying before 1st April use?

I spoke to them and they told me that they did not work on Saturdays. We are sending my wife's application on 29th.

Are there any differences between TD and AFD forms?

I printed the TD form only a week or two ago! A few months back they had a different form... :!: Are we supposed to keep up with all these changes and check for new forms every other day!!!?

The only difference I've seen, so far, between the AN (TD) and AN (NEW), which is the same as last year, is that they've added 'civil partner' to spouse etc.
