My girlfriend is here (in UK) on holiday from Brazil and we are getting married. - im a British Citizen
We cant afford to go to back to Brazil and get married there and stay there for a long time while the papers get processed.
We want to get married in Europe, or somewhere close (cheap!) but have been told that we would not get a VISA to marry in England as she is here on holiday. Is this true?
If this is true, is it possible to go to somewhere in Europe, get married there, get VISA at the british embassy, and come back to live in the UK?
Thanks for all your help, this is quite a big problem for us at the moment!

Welcome to the World of International Relationships! They cost a lot and you cannot afford to cut corners mate.
Anyway, no marriage in UK for certain.
Europe? I dunno - most places in the civilised world (ie not Las Vegas!) require some sort of waiting period to get married, post banns etc. I'm no expert mind I think u'd need to do some serious research.
I know in Ukraine you could probably do it, no visa for UK nationals, dunno about Brazilians, 30 days residency required but a bottle of whisky will persuade a doctor to say u need a waiver for this period cos ur ill and need to return home. I know one guy who did that!
But I still think she'll need to return home for the spouse visa so it's probably pointless trying to avoid it.
If cash is tight hope ur prepared for the new visa fees, £500 for spouse, £750 for FLR and £750 again for ILR.....
