A question about dependent's ILR application

My son (just turned 18 ) is going to apply for his ILR as my dependent. I should apply for my ILR first so his application fee could be saved if my application fail, am I right?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Is there any particular reason for your ILR application to fail? And have all those 18-64 years of age, including your son, passed the Citizenship Test?

No particular reasons. Just a little bit worried.

Given that your son is getting his ILR on the back of your application, albeit he needs to have a separate application form, his application really should be submitted at the same time as yours .... and indeed with a letter explaining the circumstances .... he is still your dependant ... still in full-time education .... etc.etc..

What age will your son be when the application is made?

My son turned 18ys in January. he is taking a gap year now. We are due to apply later next week.

Make it clear that he is still your dependant! If you do that your should not encounter a problem.

How are you making the applications? By post? Or in person at a PEO?

In person at Glasgow PEO. Donâ€™t want to wait for another 4 weeks or even more.

Who is going to go to the PEO? I certainly think it would be helpful if your son is present ..... just in case .... probably not necessary .... but best.

Do take evidence showing that he is still a dependant.

How do we requesting to University to Change the fee status International to Home Fee after PR.

I would be highly appreciated if you could advise me about Fee Status for Children s Education
I am visa national currently in the UK 4 years with my family. 2 sibyls started medicine last year with â€œInternational Fee statusâ€

So they will be 20 when you apply for ILR in June 2008? Is this both kids - how many kids are at university now?

well, actually I thought ILR holders had the right to change their fee status once they become UK citizens. But the OP's case makes me a little weary. If you're half way through your course, you're entitled to home fee at the begining of a new year after becoming ILR holders? That isn't too bad as long as we're allowed to make such change.

The way I've read this (and i could be wrong) is that international fees will apply for the duration of the course if u didn't have three years settlement in UK at day one.
