A letter for an SAB request

Post by come » Mon May 21, 2007 11:16 pm

Could anyone here tell me what the procedure is like to make an SAB request; if possible, provide me the sample letter? I would appreciate it for your help!

I just used this simple letter:

The Subject Access Bureau
Lunar House
40 Wellesley Road
Croydon
CR9 2BY

For the attention of Data Protection Compliance Manager

Dear Sir/Madam

I understand, under the terms of the Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA) I have right of access to information concerning me.
I would therefore like to have a copy of all the personal data held on me by Immigration and Nationality Department.
I am enclosing a postal order for £10 and my details are:

Home Office reference: XXXXXXX
Name: XXX
Address: XXXX

I must admit it was a good price for a book of that size. :))

Hi Tasha
How long did it take to come to you?

Did it include the copies of envelops you sent your applications in too, because I was wondering what they record the receipt of an application. The envelop contains the post mark and the date and if they record that date as receipt of the application.

I would appreciate if you could clarify the matter.

Many thanks in advance

Sashank
