Hello,
I am British, currently on a 1 year WHV in Canada where I met my girlfriend, who is a Canadian.
My visa expires in 2 months and she decided to come back to the UK with me, as i have to wait 12 months before i can re-enter on a WHV. She will also be moving in with me, in already arranged accomadation. She has applied (and paid for) her WHV online and we are currently in the process of sending her documents off to the British high commision.
We have bought and paid for a return ticket for a few reasons, she needed to be booked onto my flight (which was getting booked up quickly) and incredibly enough, it was cheaper to buy a return than a single. The return flight is booked 6 months after the arrival and we plan to eventually extend it.
I am planning to live with her in Canada after the 12 months in the UK is up.
She fully meets all the requirements, but cant help but worry something will go wrong... based on a few assumptions:
When we applied online she was employed full-time. but no longer is... im afraid they will comapare the online document and paper document and think she is lying.
When we applied, we said she will be living with me at X address... so im afraid they will say she is going for romance, and not a holiday. and therefore be at risk of not going home (hopefully the return flight would cancel this out)
Lastly, Funds. She has plenty of funds... but in terms of 'savings over a period of time' it doesnt work out. she has just sold some assets recently and deposited all this money at the same time... so just one lump sum. However has credit cards which offer plenty of available funds. would this translate as a friend of family has 'loaned' the cash for the visa application?
OK, do i need to panic about anything?
I should note, she will be coming regardless of the WHV outcome. whether she is legal to work or has to stay as a vistor and i'll just have to work harder, although the latter would be very inconvienient financially.
Yours,
A Born Worrier.
