Infomation needed

Post by east579new » Thu Jun 12, 2014 2:10 pm

Please can someone clarify a few points for me

1. Am i right in thinking that if you have been given leave to remain you get a biometric card and THAT has replaced the old stciker in your passport way, can someone tell me when this changed? ie what year etc
(I ask because i have had trouble with an employment agency they said the brp wasn't enough and wanted a passport as well)

To which i said the BRP is the id and shows the right to work i also produced a home office letter stating the right to work and the leter which came with the BRP which states the right to work and the fact it is to be used for id purposes. SHE said it was company policy then believe it or not started looking on the internet.

I asked so if a eu citizen (to which there must have been 20 at the front desk) polish, portugal etc comes in with there id card not passport what do you do AND she said we accept it I then said but you wont accept an official UK document issued by the home office , i said forget it and asked for everything back she then said she was contacting the payroll department and suprise suprise they said it was fine and there was no need for a passport WHICH I ALREADY KNEW so after the confrontation i knew there would be no job for me and said forget it anyway.

Biometric Card was introduced in November 2008, initially for foreign students and those on a spouse visa.
