expired spousal visa

I was issued a spousal visa and just realised that it has expired 2 weeks ago... will they make me return to my home country and then get a new visa?

Not meaning to sound stroppy, but how do you "just realise" that a visa that means the difference between staying in the UK or not has expired?

Unfortunately you are now illegally in the UK are unlikely to be able to renew your spouse visa successfully within the UK.

Two weeks? I think you might just get away with it, but there is no guarantee. Certainly make any application by post, rather than in person at a PEO. Problem is that the application fee for ILR is now Â£750 .... and as already said, no guarantee of success.

Would I be right in presuming that you have already passed the Life in the UK test? Or have you still got that to do? If the test has not been passed you would need to apply on form FLR(M) for a further 2-year spouse visa. At least that would only cost you Â£395.

And do write a grovelling letter in support of the application.

Even if ILR is obtained, will something like this break the continuity of residence for naturalisation purposes?

JAJ, I think that is highly likely, and in asking the question, I would guess that you would tend to agree with that.

obscurity has done themself no favours here at all. As already asked in this topic, how on earth did you miss such an important deadline?

I know...I know...huge mistake, but you can guarantee I won't be doing that again! I'm now assuming that when I go back to my home country I can just get another Spouse Visa or is there another visa I need to get?

And no, I haven't done the Life in UK test either.

Obscurity, I can't get over the fact that you actually "Forgot" to apply for your ILR at the end of your 2 year spouse visa. Now, I am sorry to say that you are back to square one again. You have to apply for 2 year spouse visa in your home country with all the evidence, visa fees and fully filled and signed VAF2 form.
At the end of your 2 year spouse visa (Assuming that you will get a visa) Please... Please.. Please...don't forget to apply for your ILR (Don't forget that you have to take life in the UK test as well).
