general visit visa advice needed

Post by freeboy486 » Thu Jul 10, 2014 8:31 pm

my first application was refused on the grounds that i have no economic ties that tie me to my country (egypt)
i am a non working student so i didnt expect them to refuse it on these grounds since as a non working student i dont have except my studies that tie me to returning but that doesnt seem to satisfy them so i was thinking about opening a bank account and putting a good amount of money in it and re applying ,my question is , is that a good move? and how much money is okay ? how much should be in the account , i guess not so much and also not a little amount so i need advice on this matter please.

If you open a bank account and deposit money and then apply quickly - it'll just look fake to the ECO and you'll be rejected again.

You're better off showing family ties and the continuation of your studies (e.g. a letter from your uni confirming that you are a student, have excellent grades and are returning to study in x days).

Alternatively - deposit as much money as you can and wait 6-12 months.

my mum will be paying the expenses of the trip and ill include her bank statement , i just think i should open an account and put money and put the statement too to show that i have economic ties , because the rejection said i have no economic ties and although i presented a document confirming im a third year student at the uni they told me they have no assurance that i will return to continue my studies, we also have assets but under my mothers name, i dont know wether i should present the contracts or not and say for example that the upkeep and maintenance of these assets is dependent on me
