student visa renewal ,NI issues

Post by joy_kavee » Mon Jul 09, 2007 3:43 pm

hi guys,

i need to renew my student visa soon. I am aware about the issue of Home office checking NI numbers. Well, i did work over 20 hours . Just wanted to know if anyone knows of any ways of getting round this issue. I did read about this issue a few weeks before but since then have n't heard anything yet.

Do you know of anyone , friends or relative, who has renew their UK student visa ? if so , please share your tips and experiences?

Nest issue, do you think that it's better to go and take the visa personally from Croydon HO or by post?

and lastly, is it true that they are checking your NI number at all airports, even though you have a valid student visa, they can deport you on ground that you have overwork? do they check this for each and every one?

Actually , i need to go back home from 2 weeks in the 1st week of september. do u think that when i return , i may face trouble? .

thanks

Look here joy
Did you make so much money that the ho is going to raise an eyebrow??
The reason HO is checking NI is to see if you paid your taxes, not really about how much money you made.

I don't know where you got this they are checking NI numbers at the airport. You dont think they have enough to do, now they are going to start checking NI numbers too?? They can barely keep up with what visas are valid and their current status. Where did you come up with this one? It really bugs me when people come up with stuff but provide no source about where they got it or why they think it is going to happen. If you are just panicking, please don't fuel the fire with stuff like this.

Any any other students out there don't push your luck by working more than what you are supposed to.

Not true. They check for SV these days and you have to provide this on the new style forms FLR(S). I have heard of two people deported for working more than required and I know someone who has left the UK due to this fact.

I am not sure about the airport checks but at Croydon or any BIA post they are checking currently.
Praise The Lord!!!!

well, i don't have any official source yet to confirm that they are checking how much tax you paid when you renew your student visa. But , as someone said, i heard it from someone. Wanted someone to confirm whether its true, and if its true, are they checking NI for each and every student.

Well,
I have overworked
I have a true student though ( have proper attendance, etc).
Need to renew visa soon
Should i renew it here ( via post or personally)
Or shoud i go home and renew it there ( which i did last time) and come to UK again.

whats is the difference when renew your student to disclose that you are apply with a solicitor or not?

cheers
