VFS office Status

Post by Hope2007 » Wed Jul 11, 2007 7:33 pm

Hi,

I had applied for dependent visa for my child ,who was born in the uk , in my home country ,the status at vfs website reads "The passport has been received from British High Commission, please collect the same from the UK Visa Application Center where it was submitted. "

Is that a good news or bad ?

Thanks,

John

A couple of points. Firstly the VFS office cannot advise you over the phone of the outcome to your application. The reason for that is simple ... they do not know ... the passport is in a sealed envelope.

Secondly, VFS operate in a number of different countries. Which VFS office are we talking about here?

Irrespective of the above, I would say it is good news. That is, given the basic check done at the VFS office when the application was handed in, to ensure that there was no glaring omission from the evidence being supplied, the BHC would not reject an application without an interview. Accordingly the fact that a decision has been made without an interview being needed is a good sign! Need I say more?

VFS office Status

Thanks John for your reply.
Well, my wife had applied in india-chennai.
Sorry i didnt know that they would want to interview the applicant b4 they make decision(refusal)?.
I too hope we will get the good news.
The reason was , i read some people, who got the visas, typed the status message from VFS differently. like ...."documents couried " and ending with .."case closed"

Thanks,

John

I think that given that we know the passport has been sent back to VFS, it would not be the case that they now want to set up an interview.

Anyway, as far as these things ever are straight-forward, as long as all the needed supporting documents were submitted with the application, there is absolutely no reason why the child's visa would not be granted. So I continue to think ... good news!

OK, one cannot ever be 100% certain of these things but I was pretty certain that the child's visa was in the passport. Thanks Hope2007 for confirming that.
