Multiple UK Visa ?

Post by my_screen_name » Thu Jul 12, 2007 4:50 am

Hi

Very recently my work permit was approved and I have also obtained an entry clearance from British High Commission in India. However I have not entered UK yet. Due to certain issues, I am planning to leave my current company soon.

Can I make an application to get HSMP at this point in time? (checked the points calculator and I qualify) Do I need to tell my employer? Do I need to explain to Home Office tht I will be leaving my current company?

Also, my wife is already in UK as a Work Permit Holder herself. Can I get entry-clearance as her dependent? Would that be possible considering I already have Work Permit Visa stamped on my passport?

Can I make an application to get HSMP at this point in time? Yes, at any point in time (checked the points calculator and I qualify)
Do I need to tell my employer? No, HSMP is a personnal application, no involvement from employer apart of documentation related to payslips/tax; they will not know.
Do I need to explain to Home Office tht I will be leaving my current company? If you arrive in the UK with the work permit, once you stop working for your employer (the one who applied and got the WP) your visa is no longer valid (your entry clearance stops being valid). Your employer is required to inform the home office that you don't work there any more....sugest you also tell them just in case. If you get the HSMP before or while you are in the UK, you can immediatelly apply for Entry Clearance with the HSMP (once that's granted, the old EC for the WP is no longer valid).

Also, my wife is already in UK as a Work Permit Holder herself. Can I get entry-clearance as her dependent? Yes, you need to show that you live toghether /please check conditions
Would that be possible considering I already have Work Permit Visa stamped on my passport? It does not affect your condition as dependant, you can still apply as dependant.
