Im confused.Can anybody help!

Post by zee_aziz » Sun Sep 16, 2007 1:14 pm

Hello
just want to know that Im going to appear at PEO Liverpool on 20th this month for being a dependant of international student who is my wife....Question is:

My wife has 7 months student visa left....I have 3.5 months student visa....will they allow me to work FULL TIME???or
Does she have to have atleast 12 months or more visa?

Because I was answered by VictoriaS that...I should be given permssion to work Bcoz my wife has more than 6 months visa BUT,

When I phoned HO immig enquiry phone...a HO guy told me after consulting with his senior colleage that ''YOU WILL BE WORK PROHIBITED BECAUSE YOUR WIFE HAS LESS THAN 12 MONTHS VISA''

What should I do?

thanks

My apologies...according to the rules you wopuld not be given permission to work, as your wife's leave has less than 12 months left (I had thought you would be okay if there was more than 6 months).

However, I would suggest that you make a request for a right to work, on the grounds that your wife has already been on a visa which would have given you the right to work if you had been here as her dependent from the start.

No guarantees, but it's worth a try.
