How to find my Immigration Status?

Post by optimistic_ » Tue Oct 20, 2015 9:20 am

Hi,

This might sound like a silly question, but literally how would I find out about my current immigration status?

I have a 'Residence Permit' with a leave of 2.5 years, granted on the basis of Exceptional Circumstances by a Judge after we appealed the decision of HO (initial application on FLR (O)). Application was made in early 2012 but decision was made in early 2013 on Article 8 of the Human Right convention.

On the BRP it also says 'Work Permitted' but 'no recourse to public funds'. I am not a spouse of a British Citizen or a Family Member of EEA.

The reason I wanted to find out about this,

1) which form should I use if I want to apply for an extension?
2) Do I have to pay NHS Surcharge if I apply for an extension in this category? even though I was full time employed all this time and paid my contributions to the economy as in Tax and N.I?

Thank you in advance for help. Please let me know if I have missed something, I would be happy to add.

Kind Regards,
