Dependents on Long residence ILR application

Post by thirdwave » Wed Dec 19, 2007 11:03 am

Hi guys,
Is it true that dependents are not allowed on ILR applications under the 10 year rule? I know someone who is currently on HSMP but is planning to apply under the 10 year rule pretty soon. Would he be allowed to include his spouse on the application for ILR or would she be issued a 2 year spouse visa instead?

I have checked the application and it does state that dependents are not allowed. However, I have also come across anecdotal evidence where dependents have been granted ILR under such circumstances. Whatdyathink?

You haven't come across anecdotal evidence of this nature; it NEVER happens (other than discretionary cases with minor children).

Once he has his ILR his wife will have to apply for the two year visa.
