can a deported person go back to UK

Post by goingbacktolondon » Fri Dec 21, 2007 9:08 pm

I was deported from UK in Mar ,2006 as a failed asylum seeker. In May,2006 my girlfriend (from Ireland) came to my country to get married with me .Half year later after our daughter was born ,we are divorced. Now my daughter(who has got Irish passport) staywith me in pakistan .British high commission in Pakiston told me I am entitled to reside in a Member State with his or her child solely to facilitate the child to exercise their Treaty rights. But I don't know if my deportation from Uk will affect my application. My friend told me it is better for me to submitt application in Mar 2008 (2 years after the deportation date). Can anybody give advice?

You say your ex-wife left her less than 1 year old baby with you in Pakistan willingly and went back to her home country? Are you sure you have legal custody of your child?

You will be allowed to live in a member state as the caregiver of an EU citizen, however you will NOT be allowed to work.
In a few years time we'll look back on immigration control like we look back on American prohibition in the thirties - futile and counter-productive.
