I have been avidly reading these forums over the past week or so and I have read "worryingly" that spouse visas can be turned down.
I have known my girlfriend since May 2007 and we spent Christmas and New Year together. We have got v.close over recent months and I am going there in March for a few weeks.
In terms of options for her coming here I have had advice of either getting married over there and bringing her in on a spouse visa, or bringing her on a fiance visa.
What are the reasons they would be turned down, and what are the risks involved? Ideally the fiance visa would be better, but if you presume (for the sake of argument) this happens in summer, then we can prove (to a point... emails etc...) the relationship has been going on for a year and we have visited a few times.... is this enough, and if so what more would we need to guarantee (as much as you can, I realise you can't fully) that it would be successful?
Kind regards,
Jim
