How does American move to Scotland

Post by duckyswan » Mon Feb 04, 2008 4:09 pm

I am an American in a serious relationship for 6 months with a Scottish boyfriend.
We want to live together where he resides in Scotland, but do not know what visa application I should fill out. (I have found the government websites about immigration to be a bit overwhelming and are getting confused as to what application I should fill out.)
Our ideal move date would be summer of this 2008 year.
Could anyone give me advice?

Live together? Not possible without 24 months proof of living in a relationship akin to marriage.

Unless u can get a WP/HSMP/Ancestry or a student visa your only option is marriage.

Do you have any European parentage? Proper parentage, not the US style 'I'm Irish' when it was eight generations ago!
