Not registered under WRS... What should i do now? Pls advise

Dear Forum Members,

I am a Polish Citizen working and living in the UK 4.5 years now.
I have been working for my current employer nearly 2 years now.
Since I have started working for my current employer nobody have asked me anything if I am registered or not.
Now I am a bit scared as I have read I was supposed to registered within one month from taking the job.
Does it mean I am working illegally in the UK?
Now has been 2 years! What should I do? I know if I register now - my employer will not give me a letter saying i have been employed by them for a month... and I am worried HO may fine my employer or sth.
But then I have seen this post on UK Border Agency:
"...Once you have been working in the United Kingdom legally for 12 months without a break in employment, you will no longer have to register on the Worker Registration Scheme..."

I am confused and do not know what is the best way to sort this out...
I have tried so hard to contact Immigration Enquiry Bureau but as usual- I had no luck to talk to anybody.
Please advise if you can. I will be very grateful.
Kind regards
