Dependent -> Student visa

Hi,
im currently on a dependent visa with my father whos on a work permit in the uk..i just finished my first year in university and i was thinking of changing my visa to a student visa..is this possible? if yes how?

Why change? If you change, then you cannot apply for SET(O) at the same time as your father (198). Better to remain as his dependant until you are granted ILR.

Thanks for the quick reply, but the thing is my dad is thinking of leaving uk and going back by early next year..i really wanna complete my university here and prolly my masters too..
The dependent visa expires early next year too

Unfortunately, there's a Mandatory entry clearance requirement for students. See also Chapter 3 - Students > Section 3 - Leave to remain for students (11. STUDENT RULES)
