Can I travel abroad after I apply for britizh naturalization (citizenship)?

Absolutely. If you ask for your passport back they will give it without cancellating the application. If you know you will be travelling within 3 months of your application you should submit with your application a solicitor-certified copy instead of the actual passport.

Sasha, Joseph is quite right, you can submit a certified copy of your passport rather than the actual passport.

However do ensure that absolutely every page of the passport is copied, even the blank pages!

That is, put IND in possession of all the information they would have had if you had submitted your actual passport.
