New level of in-UK visa application fees from 1st April 2005

We already knew that a consultation document was issued last September which suggested that fees will rise considerably from 1st April 2005.

Today's Hansard, the record of proceedings in Parliament yesterday, includes the following Written Question and Answer :-

Lynne Jones: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department when the outcome of the consultation and review of in-country leave to remain application charges will be made available. [211890]

Mr. Browne: Responses to the consultation have been collated and analysed. The outcome of the consultation and the final fee levels will be announced in February 2005.

Mr Browne is the Home Office Minister with responsibility for matters such as immigration. So we should hear the new fee levels this month.
