Visit visa from India- Newly married wife of BC

Post by Qurayshi » Wed Nov 27, 2019 6:40 am

Hello all,

I have recently got married in India. I am a British citizen and my wife is an Indian citizen. I would like to take her along with me on a visit visa asap as a spouse visa is a lengthy process and I'm currently not working but have got enough funds with me.

What documents do I need to show and what documents she needs to show? Is the visit visa category best to apply or shall I apply for the other category? What are the chances of a refusal?

Regards
Thanks

Remember that a requirement for a visit visa is that the visitor leave the UK at the end of their visit. One of the requirements for visit visa documentation is that the applicant show strong enough links to their home country to demonstrate that they will return to their home country after their visit. What kind of proof can you provide to show that a newly married wife will return back to her country of origin after the visit?

Therefore a visit visa in your circumstance is highly likely to be refused. It may make more sense for you to start work on the spouse visa application.

Your spouse (and other visitors) also cannot switch to a different visa while they are in the UK.
