Indefinite Leave to Enter Expiry

Post by Victoria203 » Mon Mar 23, 2020 5:11 pm

We applied for Returning Resident Visa for our daughter (now 22) who ended up staying more than 2 years away from UK while being on ILR because of her studies. She is now granted Indefinite Leave to Enter which is valid until 22 May. Her studies/training finish on 28th March. Travel to UK is not advisable because of Covid19 risks at the moment. Should we wait for things to settle down and or ask her to travel now itself from Delhi. If travel ban kicks in after 28th does her ILR get automatic extension?

Thanks much for the help.

ILR is a permanent status. It does not expire. That sticker simply allows her to enter the UK and then she has to pick her BRP here.
You may have to apply for a new ILE sticker if this one expires

Thanks for the response. ILR does not expire but it lapses it someone with ILR stays away from UK for more than 2 years. Our case was lapse of ILR and then reissue of it as ILE. Do you think its just a question of getting the sticker done again? Thanks much.

Yes it is the matter of getting a new sticker.
