How to leave UK permanently?

I'm an EU citizen, and was living and paying taxes through self assessment since 2006. Last year, in 2019 I moved out of UK into Switzerland and basically decided to stay there and not return.

I checked at the time and the only requirement I found on HMRC website was to file my last yearly self assessment and indicate when I left UK.

However, checking the links now again, I also found another article on the HMRC saying I should inform IN ADVANCE when I want to leave the UK.

What should I do now? I haven't informed anyone in advance but would like to settle this now ASAP.

Hi,

If you have paid all your taxes, and so owe nothing plus you did your final tax return before you departed, then you are free to leave without telling the tax office before hand.

Do not worry about anything.
