UK Fiance visa time frame

I am a U.S. citizen applying for a UK Fiance Visa.

How long should I expect [after doing my biometrics] to wait until I get the Visa that will allow me to go to the UK to marry my fiance.

We are just trying to figure out how long we will have to be apart and are trying to get our dog ready to fly to the UK.

Have a look on www.uk-yankee.com for specific posts about timeframes. They seem to be taking approx 20 working days at the moment. This could be sped up a bit by using a courier though.
