Invite for visitor

Post by mr2000 » Mon Nov 03, 2008 11:12 pm

Hi,

I would like to invite someone from Serbia to visit - so Erope, but not European Union...

Without giving a life story, we met initially innocently and by chance via an internet telephony service for her to improve her already fantastic English language. As a result, we became friends. I have been over to visit a number of times - and became boyfriend and girlfriend.

We have completed the visa visitor application form for her to visit for about 14 days in January. In interview, do you think it's better to make up another story of how we met - in case they think it's a little strange (even though the internet has made the world smaller)

Is it also better to say we are just friends - or boyfriend and girlfriend...? I really want to play host and do everything I can to make this visit happen.

Many thanks for your opinions. I have had no previous experience of anything like this before!

Everything is checked now - lie, visa bye-bye. Tell the truth, HO aren't daft now.

There's no point lying. A single female (from such a region) visiting a single male (in the EU).....putting two and two together isn't difficult. Just say you met online but have also met physically several times (and include evidence of your visits).

What evidence have you submitted as proof of return? Does she have a job, or is studying, or own a home, has a mortgage, etc?

Hi,

Thank you for your replies.

I think you're right - the truth... Hopefully the HO will understand 21st Century methods of meeting...!

I have sent an invitation letter stating occupation, salary, details of accommodation and support. Plus a copy of the page in my passport with all of my details on it...

She is an employed teacher, renting an apartment so has no mortgage.

Thanks again for your help.
