Impact of citizenship after civil partnership ended

Post by Eqar85 » Wed Jan 19, 2022 1:37 am

Hi Guys,

I have obtained my ILR back in summer 2019 and about 8 months ago I got my passport.

I got my IRL via long residence route which was 9.5 years of tier 4 leave and about 6 months of my partner sponsoring me for a civil partnership visa.

The application I submitted which my ILR was granted had nothing to do with civil partnership - it was 10 years of lawful residence, which as above mentioned, 9.5 years of tier 4 leave, and about 6 months of my partner sponsoring me for a civil partnership visa.

Now I can see that my relationship with my partner cannot go any further due variety of reasons and the best way I can describe my partner is he is a bit of a 'bunny boiler'

I'm just a bit paranoid  but if he revengefully tries to take this away, what can be the legal consequences?

I have to mention that I have solid evidence that we in fact leave together (Joint Account - mortgage application - we carried on leaving together after we moved houses and when my civil partnership visa was approved we provide plenty of documents to show our partnership and intent)

please advise.

thanks

There should be no impact, unless leave was obtained by deception.

Had to look up "bunny boiler". Interesting phrase.

I agree with vinny that if no deception can be proved in the acquisition of nationality, you should be fine.
