applying standard visitor visa for person having just first name

Hi,
I am planning to apply standard visitor visa for my mother in law to visit us, in the UK, this year from India. She only has first name. It is same on her Indian passport, just the first name and surname field is blank. The online visitor visa application form needs both First name and Surname. It does not allow to proceed with any of these fields being blank. Can anyone please guide me on how I can proceed with the application please?

I think your best option would be to put first name in both first and last name fields, but explain all this in a cover letter.
