marriage and visa

Post by element » Tue Jan 06, 2009 7:20 am

Im a canadian citizen/australian resident, married to an irish/australian citizen. We live in Australia and are moving to Europe this May. We plan on travelling around the UK, Ireland, Germany, Spain and France for approx. 3 months before we settle into living in Europe. We havent decided where to settle yet as we will see with our time there.. my question is.. Im arriving to the UK on a one way ticket and am not sure if I should apply for an EEA family permit or a youth mobility scheme visa as I am still 30 yrs old. Being very flexible in our time we want to travel and find our place to settle but legally Im confused on what approach to take as far as becoming a resident of the EU? If anyone can give me advice I would be greatful!! thanx

A Canadian or Australian passport holder may visit these countries without prior visit visas. As you are a spouse of an Irish citizen, see also Directive 2004/38/EC thread.
