Failed to mention a schengen visa rejection on UK visit visa application

at the time of uploading documents, I realized that an application made for a Schengen visa in 2020 was not mentioned in the visit visa application form. options I see possible are

1. mention this in the cover letter.
2. cancel the application and apply again. will have to delay the visit for a couple of months

secondly, in the application form, provided my visit dates from 15-08-23 to 15-09-23, but the biometric date that became available is 17-08-23, hence can travel before 15-09-23. Should this be explained in a cover letter or just left as it is?

have you come across this situation and how did it go?
