ILR Renewal

Hi Guys,

My wife's ILR is expiring 31 Dec 2024. Do we need to renew it using the Biometric replacement service?

I know a new online system is going to live from January 2025, but I am not sure if we still need to do something online before the expiry date?

Dear Friend

ILR means indefinite leave or stay in UK
So ILR has no expiry its just all physical biometric cards are getting abolished

You dont need to worry About it as explained below,

‘ If your BRP expires on 31 December 2024
You will not need a BRP from 1 January 2025. You'll be able to prove your immigration status online, without a BRP . UKVI will update their information on how to prove your immigration status in early 2024.’

My wife's ILR is expiring 31 Dec 2024. No, ILR does not expire, it is the BRP card indicating the status that is being phased out on that date! Do we need to renew it using the Biometric replacement service?

I know a new online system is going to live from January 2025, but I am not sure if we still need to do something online before the expiry date? None, watchout for the new system to proving/showing status that HO is to roll out sometimes this year.
