No need for an extension. Now that spouse entry 2 year entry visas are issued for 27 months instead of 24, thet HO have made a concession whereby you can apply before your visa expires and they will hold your application on file until the due date (28 days before anniversary of the date you first entered the UK). Only accepted for postal application though.
Actually...forget all that. Looking at your post you're fine anyway. Apply 28 days before your entry date (18th Feb) and you'll still be applying before your visa expires...and you can apply in person if you choose. Left the original info in just in case anyone has the same query.
Have you passed the Life in the UK test?
