impossible to link eVisa to updated passport

Post by marsupilami » Tue Dec 03, 2024 3:30 pm

Hi,
My wife, until recently, had a spouse visa and at the time, created an eVisa which was linked to her then-BRP. That BRP was issued two years ago, with her previous passport. Last year, she was issued a new passport by her country. That new passport is the current passport. When trying to link the eVisa to the new passport, the system does not recognise it and the "link to new document" process leads to a rejection after 1 week. We thought, let us her apply to ILR, that would be with her new passport and surely her eVisa will be linkable to the new passport. The ILR application was successful, and her eVisa now shows settled status. But she still can't link it to her passport and the request to link the eVisa to her current passport gets rejected after 1 week (she submits it and get a rejection letter one week after). has anyone ever experienced this? We contacted the webchat and between various helpers, some were useless, some were plain rude. The eVisa is currently not linked to her passport so we don't even know if she can travel. Anyone has experienced this and would know what to suggest?

Any update about this issue? A lot of people seem to experience the same problem of not being able to link their eVisa to their passport..
