Visit Visa for Father and Mother

Post by tier21419 » Mon Dec 16, 2024 4:09 pm

Dear All,
I am planning to apply for visit visas for my mom and dad. My dad has got visits visa 3 times (once it was refused but he got a visa last year). My mother (she is house wife) has never travelled and this time, I would both of them to come and visit us.

For my dad's recent visit visa, I submitted the following documents and it was successful (planning to submit same documents again this time as well).
  • • Copies of his previous passport pages along with copies of previous UK visas along with entry and exit stamp pages
    • Pakistani ID card copies of himself and my mother along with their translation (this shows that my mother lives with him in Pakistan
    • mine and my wife's UK passport copies
    • Invitation letter from me (also confirming that I will pay for this trip)
    • Utility Bill and council Tax letter of my residence showing that I will be able to accommodate him in the UK
    • Family Registration Certificate (showing details of my mother, two sons (one lives in the UK, and the younger one lives with him and his daughter). This shows his relationship with the sponsor (UK national) and his family ties in Pakistan
    • Letter from my employer confirming my employment (demonstrating that I am well capable of sponsoring my visit trip)
    • My bank statements – HSBC and Revolut bank accounts. HSBC account demonstrates that he has enough funds available for his trip. The Revolut account’s statement is attached to show that I recently sent money to me from this account.
    • My recent payslips (again demonstrating that he is capable of sponsoring my visit trip)
    • Document showing the property (his current home) transfer letter to demonstrate that he owns a house in Islamabad
    • Rental agreement of one portion of his home along with its translation showing the amount that he receives (which he uses for my living expenses)
    • Document showing another property along with its translation
    • My bank account statement
    • his electricity bill showing his current home address in Pakistan
My questions are;
1) Are these documents look OK? anything missing?

2) Will the previous translations be OK (as they have dates in 2023). I would imagine that would be OK, can you please confirm?

What should I submit for my mother?
Most of the documents would be the same but apart from the financial side of things (she does not have any bank accounts or bills etc). That's how most of the females live in our country (especially the older generation), they don't work and have no financial responsibilities.

How can I make her case stronger so that she can get a visa? I am thinking of having a cover letter from my Dad's side to say that his wife will be visiting and he will be covering some of the cost (like 100 pounds). the rest will be covered by me.

I would appreciate your help in this regard.

regards,

Your dad's renewal should be fine as you're replicating previous documents used. I believe your mum should be fine as well, as she's travelling with her spouse.

Just make sure that your cover letter covers the pair of them. When they submit together, the documents would cover the pair of them.

To be safe, maybe apply for just 6 months for your mum and your dad can be anything (2,5,10 years).
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!

Many thanks for your reply. When you say cover letter covers the pair of them, what do you mean, sorry. They will be submitting documents separately so you mean they should mention in their own cover letter that they are planning to travel together?

I am applying for 6months for my mom and also 6 months for my dad as well (2 years visa fee is £432  ) If they come three times in 2 years and I apply 3 times 6 months visit visa, it would be cheaper)

Many thanks for your reply. When you say cover letter covers the pair of them, what do you mean, sorry. I meant if they were applying together. Naturally you'd have said this is an invite for Mr & Mrs .... They will be submitting documents separately so you mean they should mention in their own cover letter that they are planning to travel together? I think your mum has a better chance if travelling with your dad. If you plan on doing them separately, do you dad first. When he gets his visa, you could attach his visa as part of the documents for your mum that they would be coming over together.

I am applying for 6months for my mom and also 6 months for my dad as well (2 years visa fee is £432  ) If they come three times in 2 years and I apply 3 times 6 months visit visa, it would be cheaper) I guess it could be, but you'd have stressed your parents them multiple times. The forms are chunky and annoying to fill. To add the wait times and queues at the visa center to it, it becomes annoying.

Another question, can I add my dad's documents with my mother's application e.g. mentioning that she is dependent on my dad and then adding dad's bank statement, property information, etc (which I will be submitting/uploading with my dad's application.

Oh yes you can absolutely do that. They are married. In the eyes of the world, what one owns, they both own.
