Problem with Verifying Identity on UKVI Account Using UK Immigration: ID Check App

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping someone can help or has experienced a similar issue. I’ve created a UKVI account and am trying to verify my identity to complete my evisa using the UK Immigration: ID Check app. After successfully entering the connection code, it asks me to verify either by receiving a code via email or phone. However, every time I try, I get an error message stating there’s a problem with the service.

I’ve tried everything:

Using different laptops, browsers, and phones
Checking my email and phone settings

The problem persists no matter what I do. I contacted the Home Office over two weeks ago, and they said they’d escalate it to their technical team, but I’ve had no updates since then.

The deadline for evisas is 31 December, and I’m getting really anxious about this. Has anyone encountered this issue before? If so, how did you resolve it?

The Home Office has confirmed that there will be an automatic extension until the 31st March 2025 for BRPs which expire on the 31st December 2024. This is presumably due to the issues expected during the transition to the new electronic system :idea:
