Applying for Visitor Visa- Few clarifications needed please

Post by Sufafs » Sat Dec 28, 2024 6:26 pm

Dear Admin,

I hope you are well!

I currently hold an Indefinite Leave to Remain visa and would like to apply for a Visitor Visa for my parents. I have a few questions about the necessary documents. Both my parents live in India.

My father is a pensioner, receiving 500 GBP per month (50,000 INR) and has a balance of 3000 GBP. My mother is a housewife, without any income; however, she has a balance of 2000 GBP, starting from December 2nd, 2024.

Given the current savings situation, I am considering declaring no savings for my mother (as her funds are only showing from December). All her travel tickets and expenses will be covered by myself and my brother.

Could you please advise on the following questions:

1. For my mother, if I cannot submit any bank statements, can I declare no savings in her Visitor Visa application? Do you think such an application could be approved?

2. Since she is dependent on my father, would submitting only my father's bank statements suffice?

3. As my brother is covering my mother's travel tickets, should I provide his bank statements and salary slips? If so, how many months of statements should be provided?

4. I will be covering her expenses during her stay in the UK and will submit my last 6 months' bank statements and salary slips. Will that suffice?

5. My father has 3000 GBP in his savings. Do you think this amount would be sufficient for the application?

6. My husband is a British Citizen by naturalization; Since I hold ILR , I am thinking of providing my documents only so can you please advise whether I need to provide my husband's documentation as well please?

Please review these questions and advise.

Kind regards,

This might be a complicated visa to apply for in your case.

What ties to India does your mother have? She has no savings, her family botehr and you) are abroad and you will pay for all her stuff. UKVI would want to see, besides all other stuff, that she will return.

Thank you so much for your reply.

I am living in the UK, however, my mother lives along with my father in their own house in India. And as mentioned, my father is a pensioner getting around 500 GBP per month and she is his dependent.

My mother has a couple of properties in her name, so if I submit these documents, do you think her application will strengthen and be approved?

Also, one of the property documents is written in a local language ( not in English), so do you suggest notarising it in English, saying that the property belongs to her?

Kind Regards

I think you should still declare the little that she has. Like Tesco, "every little helps".

2. Since she is dependent on my father, would submitting only my father's bank statements suffice? Submit both.

3. As my brother is covering my mother's travel tickets, should I provide his bank statements and salary slips? If so, how many months of statements should be provided? Yes you should. 6 months and a cover letter stating how much he would be contributing to her travel support.

4. I will be covering her expenses during her stay in the UK and will submit my last 6 months' bank statements and salary slips. Will that suffice? That's a start, no guarantees!

5. My father has 3000 GBP in his savings. Do you think this amount would be sufficient for the application? This now largely depends on what you have and how much you earn monthly. The trip would consume his entire savings and it still wouldn't be enough.

6. My husband is a British Citizen by naturalization; Since I hold ILR , I am thinking of providing my documents only so can you please advise whether I need to provide my husband's documentation as well please? Your document alone would suffice. You're settled here in the UK.

Please review these questions and advise.

Kind regards,
