Can I apply for 5 year visit visa for my parents?

Post by BravoCharlie2 » Fri Feb 21, 2025 6:10 am

Hi,

I am applying for my parent's visit visa. They have been to the UK 3 times before (2012, 2014, 2022) but only once in the last 10 years. They have visited Saudi Arabia twice and UAE 7 times over the last 10 years. On all previous occasions, they have applied for 6 months UK visit visa. However, as they are getting old, I believe it might be better to apply for a 5-year or even 10-year visa once so that they don't have to go through the hassle of visiting the visa application centre every time they want to come.

Given they have only visited the UK once in the last 10 years, will their visa get rejected if they apply for a 5 or 10 year visa?

Apply for 10 years if you can afford it. The difference in price between 5 & 10 isn't much.
Visa can be rejected at any point for any reason. But since they've been here 3 times and have a great travel history, I think (98%) they should be fine.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!
